Recognizing outstanding student academic achievement, Assumption College has named more than 520 students to the undergraduate Dean's List for the fall 2013 semester. To earn a spot on the Dean's List, Assumption students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester.

Assumption College's 97th Commencement ceremony was held on May 17 on the campus's H.L. Rocheleau Field, where 463 Bachelor of Arts degrees; 217 graduate studies degrees (Master of Arts and Master of Business Administration) and certificates; and 35 Continuing and Career Education degrees (Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science, and associates) were awarded.

Hofstra University congratulates the students named to the Spring 2014 Dean's List for their outstanding academic achievement. Students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 during the semester to make the Dean's List.

The State University of New York at New Paltz has announced its Dean's List for the spring 2014 semester. Dean's List designation is reserved for students who excel academically and earn at least a 3.3 grade point average in a semester with a full-time course load.

More than 1800 students were named to the President's List at Hudson Valley Community College for the Spring 2014 term. Students named to the President's List earned a term grade point average between 3.5 and 4.0.

More than 1,600 students have made the Spring 2014 Dean's List for academic achievement at Coastal Carolina University.

Faculty members at the State University of New York at Geneseo have elected 80 students to the college's chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's oldest and most widely known academic honor society. Students from the junior and senior classes are selected each spring for membership into the organization. New inductees from this area are:

27 student athletes competed for the SUNY Oneonta wrestling team during the recently completed winter season.

The following local residents were named to the Dean's List at the State University of New York at New Paltz for the fall 2013 semester.

Anthony Castoria of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY, is the winner of a video contest organized by the SUNY Oneonta Office of Sustainability to promote the college's new single-stream recycling program. Castoria, a senior majoring in mass communications, won a $100 gift card to the college's bookstore for his video, which offered a light-hearted take on which items can -- and cannot -- be tossed into the new blue recycling bins on campus.

Morrisville State College recently announced those students who were named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2013 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must achieve an average of 3.0 to 3.99 for the semester and complete 12 credit hours.
